An insight into my business
So once again please bare with me while I build this page trying to explain all the various jobs a breeder has to do will take time
as well as explaining what goes into producing a litter of pups while also explaining rules and regulations while we journey on this page

So yes this iS a business
While i run a breeding business my dogs will always come first there well-being and happiness is first and foremost
Yes I sometimes have to make business decisions but never at a cost to my dogs
All my dogs are cared for to high standards daily exercise and enrichment, training, grooming, washing, socialisation
Youngsters go of to puppy training classes
My dogs also go of to fun dog shows as well as kennel club dog shows
I have visitors that play and interact with our dogs all for my dogs enjoyment
All my dogs are vet checked yearly when they go for here booster vaccinations all my dogs are also given a kennel cough vaccine to prevent them from picking up this ailment from other dogs while they are out and about
Again all my dogs are wormed regularly to keep them healthy

Being licensed
Having my breeding licence means that I follow all the rules and regulations set down by the government this covers every aspect of what I do the care of my dogs my kennels my wheplprooms, what age dogs are bred from, how many litters a female can have in her lifetime,(males have no limit as to how many litters they can father in there lifetime), hygiene, feed how it stored I can go on the list is vast
We are inspected yearly but a council inspector can visit anytime they wish unannounced

Our kEnnels
My kennels are all kitted out for my dogs comfort and go beyond the required regulations we are bound by
All sleeping areas are heated all kennel runs are covered so our dogs are protected from the weather
Each sleeping area has sealed heavy duty rubber stable mats on the floors then on top of this we provide a thick layer of bedding this is all cleaned on a daily basis
Again this comes in at no day of no holidays no celebrations for birthdays or Christmas until all my are dogs are cared for on these days

This is one of my typical double kennel block each kennel is 8ftx16ft split into part enclosed sleeping area part run
My dogs are out when the weather is nice we have several gardens for this purpose the only time my dogs are in is if it is to hot to cold or to wet they are in there kennels overnight we also have other heard shelter sheds in the various gardens although my youngsters do not get to run outside for to long with the adult dogs so they are not over exercised while they are still growing and developing

What happens when one of my dOgs retire
So once again this is a business
Some of my dogs stay with us when they retire till they cross rainbow bridge
Some of my dogs go of to old customers that have bought numerous pups from us in the past
while they still want a dog they no longer want to go through the puppy stage so one of my dogs is ideal as our old customers know how well socialised my dogs are
Some of my dogs will go to a friend or a family member in there retirement
People who have our retired dogs keep in touch regularly with updates

Breeding girls
I buy all our dogs at puppy age it then takes us a year and a half to two years to mature a girl to breeding age so this means daily care feeding vet fees and training classes and many hours spent making sure our dogs are well socialised
Regulations state no girl can be bred under the age of 1 year old
All my girls do not have there first litter until they are at least a year and a half to two years old
Regulations also state that any female cannot have more than six litters in there lifetime but the kennel club won’t register any more than four litters to a female in there lifetime without special permission
So my girls have there four litters in there lifetime the only time the may have more than four is if they have a small litter of two or three pups
No female can have more than two c sections in there lifetime

Breeding boys
Once again we buy all our boys in at puppy age to train and mature our dogs properly making sure they are not over exercised fed properly and well socialised again this takes years of hard work and care day in day out

Being a licensed breed can also mean being charged twicE the normal prIce for a puppy if that pup is to be used for breedinG once they have matured
So anYone thinKing that breedIng is an eaSy life or a quick money making scheme please think again it takes years to mature dogs with day in day out care and attention to produce a litteR of pups
Puppies
The puppies i produce are kennel club registered breed register unless otherwise stated i give individual litter details to anyone enquiring about a particular litter
All of my pups are vet checked at around seven weeks old
All of my pups leave here microchipped as per the law and regulations
My pups are then ready to leave here from eight weeks of age onwards no puppy will leave here before this age
I do not give any of my pups there first vaccine and never have
The reason for this. It is far better for the pups to have the same two vaccines at there own vet due to there being different vaccines that can be used by different vets so it is better for the pup not to have to go on to have two further different vaccines from a different vet if they do not use the same vaccine as my vet
I have a contract of sale for all my pups no pup leaves here without one
My contract is available to view upon request before visiting to view any of my litters it can also be viewed when visiting

Pregnant girls Care and birthing
Once one of our girls are mated they come into the house whelprooms when they are four weeks pregnant, we have three fully equipped whelprooms in the house each pregnant girl has there own whelprooms so they can get comfy and nest and also scent there room to there own scent this the helps the pups once they are born when our girls come in they have a bath at four weeks pregnant this is the last time they get a bath until they are fully weaned from there pups as each dog needs there scent so there pups feel comfortable and secure with there mum
Our mums then have four meals a day to make sure they have as much food as they need while they are pregnant To ensure there bodies do not lack an essential nutrients they need
Each room is cleaned several times a day all the mums get out for exercise and loo breaks as needed
Having my whelprooms in the house means I am able to monitor my mums closely to make sure all is going well with there pregnancy
Birthing
So it takes a keen eye with some mums to know when they are in labour some are very obvious others are more subtle and don’t show they are in labour to the untrained eye
I stay with my mums while in labour and all through the birth of there pups, some mums can be in slow labour for 24/48 hours this can be gruelling as I then have to go on to delivering the pups after being awake for many many hours
I delivery every puppy born here to ensure there safe arrival
Another myth is that dogs just get on with birthing and doing it all themselves this is not the case if u are not there with ur dog u can loose a whole litter at birth it is a learning curve for new first time mums so they need extra care and attention
U also need to know when a c section is required again if u do not pay proper attention to a pregnant girl and do not realise a c section is required u can loose a whole litter and potentially ur dog
So great care and attention is given to our girls while pregnant, birthing and beyond
Once a litter is born I have several members of my family who keep a close eye on my mums and pups to allow me to do my normal daily jobs i then stay with my mums and pups in there individual whelprooms overnight for at least the first week or longer if needed this can mean many days of not much sleep but still full days work to be done again this can be gruelling but worth it to make sure all the pups are feeding and thriving
