Here’s Nola and Kayli, our second and third German Shepherds from Celtacastus. They are the happiest, healthiest and most well behaved pair, such easy going and loving dogs we’ve ever had. Despite having two different personalities, they absolutely adore one another and I think Nola genuinely thinks Kayli is her puppy. Catherine, thank you once again for breeding such wonderful specimins of the breed, we are over the moon with them and couldn’t imagine life without our girls. See you soon for number 4!

We came across Catherine’s website when looking for a German Shepherd puppy last year. We had already been to view puppies at what unfortunately turned out to be a puppy farm before we came across Catherine’s advert. By sharp contrast, we were immediately impressed with Catherine and her set up. Her puppies had obviously been lovingly reared and cared for in a lovely family home. The puppies had their own purpose built rooms with heating and were all fit healthy and happy pups. We met the puppie’s parents who were both beautiful dogs and we also had the pleasure of meeting Gizmo, Catherine’s daughter’s assistance dog. It was very obvious that Catherine loves all her dogs and spends a lot of time caring from them. They are very much a part of her family. She gave us as much time as we needed with the puppies although it was pretty clear from the get go that Bear was the one for us. He immediately interacted and played with us and we fell in love with him straight away. We also knew straight away that he would be ‘Bear’ he is literally a big cuddly teddy bear!

Catherine was very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble, she was more than happy for us to come back again the following week so that could bring our 3 kids to meet Bear as they were so excited. When we went to collect Bear on pick up day, Catherine gave us a folder which included his pedigree, details on how to register our address to his microchip, dates of worming treatments and all the information we could ask for in relation to feeding, training and generally taking good care of him. She had also included a bag with a piece of his Mum’s blanket and his dinner which had been measured and pre-soaked. Catherine was obviously sad to see him go and I must admit I felt a bit bad taking him away! He very quickly made himself at home though! I read through all the advice which helped Bear settle in very quickly to his new home. When we took Bear to the Vet for his first vaccination, I took his folder along with me and the Vet said she had never seen such a comprehensive and professional pack and that this was the sign of an excellent breeder. Bear will be one year old next month (at the time of writing) and he has been an absolute joy. Everyone loves him. He is very alert, incredibly clever and very eager to please which has made training him so much easier.

We completed his basic puppy training and then continued training with ‘Wolfspeak’ where he is very well thought of. We take him everywhere with us and are always approached by people who want to come and say ‘hello’ to him. He is a very friendly and attentive dog and is known out and about as ‘the gentl giant’ We receive a lot of compliments about how ‘calm’ he is. At 8 months old, we were at the scene of an accident where a man had sustained a nasty head injury. Bear kay down with his head on the man’s stomach obviously trying to comfort him until the ambulance arrived. We heard later that the man was recovering in hospital - they managed to get word to us by describing Bear to find out who his owners were! He has obviously inherited his parents caring natures so I’ve started making enquiries with Therapets for when he is old enough. We have stayed in touch with Catherine and send her updates and photos which she ius always happy to receive and respond to. We are currently giving consideration to getting another pup and just wouldn’t go anywhere else. The quality of the dogs and the care at Celtacastus really is second to none.

We have had three puppies from Catherine and Celtacastus and have been so lucky to have found her and her family who have given us amazing puppies who grew into amazing dogs and family members. We got our first puppy in January 2013 and Poppy grew into the most beautiful dog ever. When we brought her home she was a ball of grey fluff and we never knew she would turn into a gorgeous blond - she was a blue sable. She was the most affectionate dog and she was so sociable with other dogs and people. Here she is as an eight week old puppy.

When Poppy was four we decided to go back to Celtacastus and give her a wee playmate and we were lucky enough to be given Hunter, a black and puppy. Hunter has been the most gentle and loving dog we have ever known. He was so easy to train and just loves cuddles and cosying up. He is a big gentle giant now and is 8 years old.

When Poppy passed over the Rainbow Bridge Hunter was really lonely so we went back to Celtacastus and found our latest addition to the family - Bronte. Bronte is now almost 4 years old, is a dark sable and is totally stunning. She is also totally loving and loves nothing more than cuddling into her Dad. Her and Hunter are great pals and love each other so much. Bronte is stunning now all her colours have come through.

I’ve had seven pups from Catherine over the years. I think the numbers are a testiment to the quality of dogs bred!! They’ve all been happy, healthy dogs who get constantly complimented on their stature and coats. Catherine is always at the end of the phone for help and support and I’m proud to now call her a friend.

We are totally indebted to Catherine for giving us such healthy and beautiful family dogs. We have always sent her photos of the dogs on their birthdays and she is always interested in seeing how they have grown. She always gives excellent advice and really cares about the dogs in her care. We would never consider another breeder and would recommend Catherine and Celtacastus to everyone.

Here is our beautiful Celtacastus Sapphire (Skye) Elbow score 0, hips 16 in total. DNA tested and clear. She is the friendliest, sweetest natured dog and a testament to Catherine's breeding program. In fact we've been so impressed with her and her support over the past 3 years that we have decided to mate her with Catherine's beautiful Rios later this year as we know they will produce healthy puppies with an excellent temperament

Akkela our youngest getting up to mischief with our granddaughter. She has an excellent temperament and gets on so well with all the kids. Catherine has been so helpful with us over the years, the place is always clean and tidy, all dogs are amazing, don't know how she manages it xx
